PKM MACHINE GUN
Available are the Zastava M84 PKM machine guns. Tripods sold seperatly. About 400 units are available for sale. These M84 PKMs can be made into PKM parts kits for the US market.
The PKM machine gun is a Soviet made 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun in use since 1969, replacing the original PK machine gun made in 1961 which was a bit heavier. The PKM machine gun is still in use by the Russian military in mostly infantry units either held or as a vehicle-mounted firearm, either as an anti-personal or anti-aircraft weapon when put on a special AA mount. The barrel of the PKM machine gun is not fluted as the PK, and has a different style shorter flash hider. The feed cover is strengthened by the introduction of stamped ribs. The tripod has a special mount for the belt box, so a mounted PKM gun can be moved through the battlefield without the need for unloading before movement and subsequent loading in a new position.
The PKM machine guns that are available usually are the Yugoslavian M84 and the Romanian Mitraliera Model 66.
